Trust Harmonix – the GSTT Staff Community Choir…

Do you work at Guy’s, St Thomas’ or Evelina London hospitals or in GSTT Community Services? Do you enjoy singing? Do you want to improve your health and well-being whilst having fun with your colleagues? If the answer is yes to all three then come and join Trust Harmonix!

In January 2018 Trust Harmonix celebrated it’s first anniversary but we’ve already come a long way in that initial year. But don’t be nervous – come and join the party! Find out what your colleagues are already discovering – that singing can give you a health boost! Community singing has proven health benefits that staff can really benefit from whilst enjoying themselves together.

Why singing?

  • Combats stress
  • Encourages team building
  • Aids concentration and memory
  • Develops healthier breathing patterns
  • Helps regulate heart beat & blood pressure
  • Releases Endorphins making you feel happy

Whether you are a seasons singer or merely enjoy singing in the shower, the staff choir can be for you. There are no auditions and you don’t need to be able to read music – simply come along and experience the joy singing can bring. The sessions are organised by Breathe Arts Health Research and led by Mike King one of the UKs most successful choir leaders. So long as you work somewhere across the Trust you are welcome. Our members are a true cross section of the Trust too – from administrators and support staff to doctors, nurses, students, therapists and volunteers.

Our next rehearsal sessions in 2018 and will run from 6pm-8pm in Central Hall at St Thomas’s Hospital on the following dates:

  • March 12th, 19th, 26th
  • April 9th and 23rd
  • June 4th, 11th and 25th
  • July 2nd, 9th, 23rd and 30th
  • August 6th, 13th, 20th
  • September 10th

Simply turn up or email to let us know you’d like to come.

We will be scheduling some performances during the year – so even if you don’t want to join you can still come and support your colleagues and enjoy a great show!
