Do you work, study or volunteer at Guy’s, St Thomas’ or Evelina London hospitals or in GSTT Community Services? Do you enjoy singing? Do you want to improve your health and well-being whilst having fun with your colleagues? If the answer is yes then come and join Trust Harmonix!
In January 2019 Trust Harmonix celebrated it’s second anniversary and we’ve come a long way since that humble start in 2017. But don’t be nervous – come and join the party! Find out what your colleagues are already discovering – that singing can give you a health boost. Community singing has proven health benefits that staff can really benefit from whilst enjoying themselves together.
Encourages team building
Aids concentration and memory
Develops healthier breathing patterns
Helps regulate heart beat & blood pressure
Releases Endorphins making you feel happy
Whether you are a seasoned singer or merely enjoy singing in the shower, the staff choir can be for you. There are no auditions, it’s still free to attend and you don’t need to be able to read music – simply come along and experience the joy singing can bring. The sessions are organised by Breathe Arts Health Research and led by Mike King one of the UKs most successful choir leaders. So long as you work somewhere across the Trust you are welcome (including Kings Partners). Our members are a true cross section of the Trust too – from administrators and support staff to doctors, nurses, technicians, students, therapists and volunteers.
Our 2019 Summer and Autumn term rehearsal sessions will run from 6pm-8pm in Central Hall at St Thomas’s Hospital on the following dates:
JUNE 3rd 10th 24th. [Please note the 10th will be at Guy’s Atrium 1 and will include a public performance].
JULY 1st 8th 15th 22nd 29th
AUGUST 5th 28th (Weds)
NOVEMBER 11th 18th 25th
Simply turn up, or better still email email@example.com to let us know you’d like to come and we can send you all the information you need.
We schedule performances regularly throughout the year – so even if you don’t want to join in the singing you can still come and support your colleagues and enjoy a great show!
Remember anyone can join whatever their level and we are particularly keen to expand our male voices section.
