New Year, New Challenge? - Breathe

New Year, New Challenge?

Tue 17 Jan

Read on to find out more about three exciting opportunities coming up in 2023…

We don’t believe in a ‘New You’, the ‘Old You’ is pretty great in our opinion….However, we do believe that taking on new challenges can be a brilliant way to push your mind and body.

Breathe needs to fundraise year-round in order to be able to run our transformational programmes and we need YOUR support to help raise the money needed.

We’ve taken a bit of a gamble in the hope that some of you might be up for a new challenge for 2023, challenging yourself, whilst raising precious funding for Breathe. We’ve invested in places on three different challenges, and we need you to step up and take on the challenge with us.

The challenges are…

1 – Hackney Half – Sunday 21st May

Hackney Half promises to be a half marathon like no other. There will be some serious festival vibes with lots of live music, DJ’s, local food and drinks and entertainment to keep you going! The carefully curated route, round East London’s famous sights, also promises to be one of the flattest and fastest around – perfect for a personal best or your first half marathon.

Minimum sponsorship: £250. Secure your place by paying a registration fee of £15.

2 – London Triathlon – Sunday 6th August

Swim, cycle and run your way to victory in the world’s biggest city centre triathlon! Whether you’re a hardened tri-athlete or a complete beginner, this brilliant event will leave you feeling on top of the world. The event takes place on closed roads in the heart of London, offering you a unique way to view the city. You can choose from Sprint, Super Sprint or Olympic distances.

Minimum sponsorship: £300. Secure your place by paying a registration fee of £25.

3 – Chiltern 50 – Saturday 23rd September

Choose to walk, run or jog, 50, 20 or 10km in some of the best of the Chilterns countryside. You’ll have fantastic views, historic trails, nature reserves, forests, and a few hills! To spur you on there is big celebration at the end of your trek with a BBQ, bar & entertainment (and the option to camp on-site).

Registration fees start from £15 depending on the distance and funding option you choose. Visit the Ultra Challenge website and select to raise money for ‘Friends of Breathe Arts Health Research’ – under the ‘Medical’ charities section.

If none of these take your fancy, there are plenty more open challenges, run by Ultra Challenge,  you can join to raise money for Breathe (Select ‘Friends of Breathe Arts Health Research’): https://www.ultrachallenge.com/the-events/

Why take on a challenge for Breathe?

We’ll support you every step of the way, send you a Breathe goody bag and information to support your fundraising; plus you’ll be doing something amazing whilst helping us to change lives with our creative health programmes.

Don’t just take our word for it….
