Join Breathe Harmony choir recording to combat loneliness

Breathe Arts Health Research is partnering with Musical Director, Mike King, and the MyCool Music Foundation to bring singers from around the world together.

Our Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Trust staff choir Breathe Harmony, led by Mike King, will be collaborating with his various choirs to create an international virtual recording of ‘Anytime You Need A Friend’.

Breathe Harmony was established to give Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff a creative outlet to help combat stress, promote health and wellbeing through singing and to create a sense of community amongst NHS colleagues. During this time, it’s as important as ever to be uplifted through the spirit of singing and to offer our NHS workers alongside many more, a chance to creatively connect with a supportive community.

This project has started attracting interest from around the world with participants from across the UK, Norway, Italy, Spain, Barbados, Antigua, the USA and we’d love you to be involved!

Anyone can take part – the more the merrier! Whether you are a seasoned singer, normally sing in a choir or just in the shower – it is about promoting wellbeing through singing, bringing people together and giving individuals something positive to do at this most challenging and uncertain of times due to COVID-19.

Some responses from our much valued Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff and Breathe Harmony members after our first ever zoom rehearsal:

Thanks for bringing us altogether for a moment of pure connection and joy amid isolation and worry, to do something we all love.

Thank you for sharing a bit of normality and fun into the day at such a stressful time.
