Our Ambassadors and Mentors

Arun completed the Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme in 2015 when he was 8 years old. We’re delighted that he has continued to work with us and is now a Mentor on the programme, inspiring and supporting younger generations of magicians.

George attended the Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme when he was 11 years old. Through Breathe Magic, George discovered not only an incredible talent for performing magic, but developed a new set of social skills which have improved all aspects of his life.

Taking part in the Breathe Magic Mentor Programme provides a way for George to give something back to Breathe. He describes the role as ‘professional friendship’. He attends many of our events, sometimes as a public speaker. He also helps teach magic tricks to our Young Magicians and talks to them about his lived experience of having hemiplegia.

Josh joined us as a participant on the Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme back in 2013. After a life-changing experience with us, his love of magic and performing continued to grow. He’s been an incredible ambassador to the programme, joining us for a wide range of events, including our Tedx talk, for which he received a standing ovation. In 2019 he performed one of his routines on the Magic Circle stage and was deemed of such a standard that he was made a Member of the Magic Circle itself!

Lara was one of our Young Magicians in 2012 when she was 11 years old. The programme changed her life so that she was able to enter her secondary school years feeling empowered and able to complete all kinds of daily tasks she hadn’t thought possible. She feels so strongly about our programmes that she’s now one of our amazing magic mentors and advocates for our programme on an ongoing basis.

Cat has been involved with Breathe since attending Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme in 2016. She gave a talk at the NHS expo in Manchester in 2016, explaining to health professionals about how her disability affects her and how the programme helped her enormously. Cat attends various Breathe events to mentor some of the Young Magicians and liaise with the parents.

Jenny’s son Tam was one of our Young Magicians on the 2024 Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme.

Kiemu’s son Laurie took part in our Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme in 2024.
