Our wider team

We have a small core team, but much of the reason why Breathe can achieve such incredible things is because we are surrounded by an amazing team of artists, researchers, clinicians and volunteers.

Meet just a few of the fantastic people we work with, below.

This is a space to just be free. To express yourself. I'm loving it. Thank you Breathe!
Naa Dedei Okine, Breathe Dance for Staff Wellbeing lead works across our Breathe Dance for Staff Wellbeing Programme and specialises in dance styles including Afrobeats. "I really see dance as therapy. Knowing that I am teaching NHS staff who are obviously going through a lot... they're working hard. This is a space to just be free. To express yourself."
Working with Breathe Arts Health Research for the past 17 years has been a deeply meaningful experience, allowing me to witness the transformative power of music in healthcare settings. It’s a privilege to contribute to an organisation that brings connection, comfort, and humanity to clinical environments through the arts.
Havana-born Breathe Musician Ahmed Dickinson has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall. His recent projects include the world premiere concerto with Docklands Sinfonia, recitals with Malta International Arts Festival and live performances at the Royal Opera House with ballet star Carlos Acosta.
I was thrilled to join Breathe Melodies for Mums as a singing lead. Knowing that the work has been scientifically proven to improve postnatal depression makes it even more of an honour to be involved.
Christina Carty is one of our Breathe Melodies for Mums singing leads. Christina has been leading singing in various guises for over 15 years. She is the founder and director of the choir Vocallective.london which takes her in many directions, including musical teambuilding events and coaching. She also leads several other community based choirs across London.
"I have gained so much more confidence and belief in myself. Breathe Magic changed my life as well as it has for so many others."
Laura London first began her journey with magic at just 10 years old and has since established a dynamic and magical career which includes starring in TV shows such as ITV's 'The Next Great Magician' and featuring in the BBC's: The One Show. Laura, works across our Breathe magic programmes from spreading joy across the children's wards in Evelina as our resident artist, to supporting our award-winning Breathe Magic for Intensive Therapy Programme as a lead magician. Laura shares: "There is nothing more wonderful than hearing one of our young magicians after two weeks of camp say: I can do this!"
Working with Breathe has been a buzz. The coming together of scientific research and creative practice has the potential to change the entire world.
Arji is a poet, performer and facilitator. He has worked with community arts projects nationally and internationally for over 15 years. This has given him the privilege of working with some of the world’s most interesting people. In everywhere from prisons and Immigration Removal Centres to schools and youth clubs, Arji has continued to push creativity and self expression. In recent years he has worked for organisations including The Young Vic, The Southbank Centre, The Barbican and The Roundhouse. As well as being a passionate creative facilitator Arji is a published poet.
