(formerly Trust Harmonix)
Breathe Harmony is the staff choir of Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Established by Breathe Arts Health Research in 2017 and led by esteemed choir leader Mike King, Breathe Harmony was established to give staff a creative outlet to help combat stress, to promote health and wellbeing through singing and to create a sense of community amongst NHS colleagues who may not necessarily encounter each other in their day-to-day work.
Breathe Harmony is a non-auditioned choir with members coming from a range of health disciplines including – Doctors, nurses and health care assistants, scientific staff, therapists, administrators and support staff, students and volunteers.
Hospitals can be quite stressful so it’s nice to be able to come and relax, get things off your chest. But what’s great about it is that everyone is on an equal footing no one really knows if they’re a consultant or a nurse… it's all about bringing unity to the Trust.
Mike King, Choir Leader
The choir has high ambitions with a repertoire covering a variety of contemporary pop, soul, R&B and jazz and to date the choir has performed at venues including Southbank Centre, Brunel Museum and Greenwich Theatre.

There is now this huge focus on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Employers are starting to promote the idea that you should do something that makes you feel better. For me the choir is a safe place to be, a very inspiring place.

As always Breathe Harmony and singing has added a little bit of light to my life, something which is particularly needed during these dark times of uncertainty. I hope this song and video spreads that light to everyone else that watches it.
