About the Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme (BMITP)
BMITP is an evidence-based, upper limb bimanual intensive and goal-oriented therapy programme, that delivers over 60 hours of intensive therapy that incorporates the art of magic to provide therapy in a fun and supportive group setting. With one-to-one support for each young person, this group intervention is tailored to suit each young person’s particular strengths, needs and goals.
By learning high-quality magic and performance skills in a fun & nurturing environment, young people will:
- Increase their independence in self-care skills and other personal goals that they highlight.
- Improve their psychosocial wellbeing by building confidence, self-esteem and a can-do attitude.
- Develop the skills to participate in two-handed daily activities with increased independence.
- Meet and connect with other young people with hemiplegia and build peer support networks.
