Breathe Magic on The One Show!

Thu 27 Aug

We’re incredibly proud and excited to share that our pioneering and evidence-based Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme was featured on The One Show tonight, shining a national spotlight on hemiplegia, our unique intervention and the amazing young people and families we support.

It’s a big moment for Breathe to have our work featured on primetime TV, highlighting the vital role that not-for-profit social enterprises can play in supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Thank you to Dani Dyer and The One Show team for helping us share the impact of our programmes on a national platform, and telling our story with such care, consideration and heart.

Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme

The Breathe Magic Intensive Therapy Programme supports young people with hemiplegia (a weakness or paralysis affecting one side of the body as a result of brain injury or stroke) through the art of magic. The programme brings together Occupational Therapists and professional Magic Circle Magicians. Each magic trick is carefully chosen and adapted to encourage young people to use both hands together, practise specific movements and develop problem-solving skills, while also building self-confidence and independence.

Grounded in evidence-based, world-class medical research, our award-winning programme provides young people with 60 hours of clinically effective, fun and engaging bimanual intensive therapy, whilst transforming them into young magicians.

Interested in being a part of the magic?

Help us keep the magic going…

Breathe is a not-for-profit community organisation and we fundraise year-round to be able to offer bursaries and support, enabling young people to attend Breathe Magic. We want to ensure that the cost of the programme is never a barrier to participation and that our programme remains accessible and inclusive for every child and young person with hemiplegia. We can’t do this without your kindness, generosity and support.
