We’re back! It’s a joy to bring our lunchtime public performances back to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. We can’t wait for NHS staff, patient and visitors to experience these uplifting performances from talented artists from around the world, to take a Breathing Space to pause and recharge. Made possible with support from Guy's and St Thomas' Charity.

PERFORMANCES WILL TAKE PLACE IN A VARIETY OF SPACES ACROSS GUY’S AND ST THOMAS’, 1PM TO 2PM

Wednesday 12th October

Kasai Masai

Described as ‘Music from the African Village with a London edge’ Kasai Masai brings us the traditional sound of the most remote equatorial villages with an urban twist. Named after a river, Kasai lies in the heart of the rain forest where many tribes still maintain their traditional lifestyles. The Masai, just like the Baka, are another dignified tribe whose lives still centre around a nomadic existence.

Jonathan Mayer, Sitar

Denis Kucherow, Tabla

Two musical traditions in a world premiere. “East meets West” takes its inspiration from beyond Western Europe and is composed and performed by Jonathan Mayer & Denis Kucherow. The duo gives us a glimpse into the vibrant, living musical heart of the western classical style and features a wide and varied repertoire.
