Will you take on the Thames Path Challenge for Breathe?

Thu 14 Mar

After fantastic efforts from supporters who took on challenges such as the Hackney Half and London Triathlon in 2023, we are looking for more wonderful people to take on the Thames Path Challenge this year!

In the face of continual funding cuts, Breathe needs your support more than ever!  We are passionate about making our creative healthcare programmes accessible for all and we need to fundraise year-round to be able to do this.

Will you take on the Thames Path Challenge to help raise vital funds for Breathe?

Taking place on 14th and 15th September, join us and 3,000 other adventurers walking the distance, raising money to support Breathe’s life-changing arts and health programmes. With distances starting from 22km, 25km, 50km, 75km all the way up to 100km across one or two days there’s something for a range of abilities.

Starting at Putney Bridge, the full 100km route heads upstream to Henley along the famous Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor, with some wonderful scenery to a riverside finish line.

To take part you need to:

  1. Pick your distance,
  2. Sign up via the Ultra Challenge website (the event organisers) here,
  3. Choose how much you’d like pay towards your place (starting from £10), and what you want your fundraising target to be for Breathe (there are lots of options based on the distance you’re walking),
  4. Choose to fundraise for ‘Friends of Breathe Arts Health Research’ from the 300+ listed Charities. We are listed under the ‘medical’ section,
  5. Get training and fundraising!

Why take on a challenge for Breathe?

We’ll support you every step of the way, send you a Breathe goody bag and information to support your fundraising; plus you’ll be doing something amazing whilst helping us to change lives with our creative health programmes.

Don’t just take our word for it….

I'm proud to be joining forces with Breathe. Arts and wellbeing go hand in hand and as someone who works to take the arts around the country, I see on a daily basis the impact it makes on people. I always want to challenge myself and at the same time raise funds for an important cause, so why not do a triathlon?

I have known of Breathe's work for over 5 years - so why them? Simple! Their work is inspirational and directly impacts people's lives in such a positive way. Every penny of fundraising will support them to keep up their amazing work.

Ps. If this doesn’t take your fancy, there are plenty more open challenges, run by Ultra Challenge,  you can join to raise money for Breathe (Select ‘Friends of Breathe Arts Health Research’): https://www.ultrachallenge.com/the-events/
