Hello and Happy New Year from Breathe Arts Health Research and welcome to our first season of 2020, jam-packed with Performing Arts for staff, patients and visitors at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, made possible by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity.
Within this winter programme, we are proud to share our Breathing Spaces live performances over the coming months; the internationally-acclaimed Omar Puente Quartet fills St Thomas’ Central Hall with creative Cuban flavours, Akademi return with an energetic Kathak dance performance and four of our Resident Musicians who play as solo harpists across Guy’s and St Thomas’ come together for a unique harp extravaganza to celebrate St David’s Day.
The Breathe team had a wonderfully busy and exciting end to 2019; our Founder and Managing Director Yvonne Farquharson accepted the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Action for Children’s Arts Award. We were selected as a study of good evidence and practice in the World Health Organisation’s largest report on the evidence on arts in health and wellbeing. And the expansion of our pioneering Melodies for Mums programme was announced, enabling us to reach hundreds more women across London.
For all of our January-March 2020 Performing Arts events including our full Breathing Spaces line up, check out our new digital brochure, and be sure to keep updated with the latest news by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at @BreatheAHR.
